William Hill Seeks Sportsbook Foothold in Three Rural Nevada Towns
The Nevada Gaming Commission will review the applications on November 19
Caesars Entertainment’s William Hill is seeking to add sportsbooks at Terrible’s casinos in Indian Springs, Carlin and Searchlight, expanding its reach beyond Nevada’s major resort markets.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board unanimously recommended the licenses on November 4, according to CDC Gaming.
The applications were scheduled for Nevada Gaming Commission review on November 19.
If approved, the locations could take William Hill’s Nevada network past 110 outlets, including kiosk-only sites.
Other Expansion
The proposed expansion follows William Hill openings at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, Hotel Nevada in Ely, Verdi Grillhouse and Barton’s Club in Jackpot.
At the time of its expansion in Virgin Hotels, Cliff Atkinson, president of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, said working with William Hill will “elevate” the sportsbook experience for customers at the property.
“William Hill is the right strategic partner, given its track record of providing an unmatched retail and mobile sports betting experience in Nevada,” Atkinson said. “This transition allows us to redefine our sportsbook and align it more closely with the dynamic energy and innovation synonymous with our resort.”
Local Access, Statewide Strategy
Nevada’s in-person registration requirement gives physical sportsbooks a role beyond taking bets: customers must register at a licensed location before using mobile wagering in the state.
William Hill and Terrible’s have already worked together in Primm. The sportsbook at Primm Valley Resort returned after a 17-day closure, with kiosks and staffed betting service, according to Las Vegas Review Journal. William Hill also recently renovated its race and sportsbook at Rio Las Vegas, whose website lists both ticket writers and self-service kiosks.
