Delaware Expands Sports Betting with Nationwide Kiosk Rollout
Delaware has completed the nationwide installation of self-service sports betting kiosks across its retail network, offering a faster way for customers to place wagers.
Delaware has finished installing self-service sports betting kiosks across its retail lottery network, extending the technology to all 89 Sports Lottery locations and the state’s three casinos, according to Delaware Live.
The rollout gave customers a way to place bets without help from a clerk, while keeping wagers tied to authorised in-person locations rather than a fully mobile platform.
The machines were developed with Scientific Games and use odds supplied by Caesars Sportsbook Delaware outlets. This included Delaware Park Casino, Bally’s Dover Casino Resort and Harrington Raceway & Casino.
System Makes it Faster
Lottery officials said the system is intended to make transactions faster, ease pressure on staff and give bettors more flexibility.
Delaware Lottery Director Helene Keeley, said “as sports betting continues to grow in popularity, these self-service kiosks meet players where they are in terms of fitting wagering into their day as well as their particular preferences for wagering.”
A “Bet Ahead” function lets players build a wager online, then enter a six-digit code at a kiosk to finish and print the ticket. The terminals also use QR codes so customers can check results and review details of their wagers, according to the reports.
The rollout was completed by late June without interrupting existing operations.
Delaware Lottery, which has operated since 1975, says lottery proceeds have contributed about $6 billion to the state’s General Fund.
Terry Glebocki was named the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors earlier this year.
