Maverick Gaming Shutters Silver Dollar SeaTac Casino as Bankruptcy Unfolds

Maverick Gaming is shutting down its Silver Dollar SeaTac Casino near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on June 30 and cutting about 65 jobs according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing.

Seattle, Washington
  • Maverick Gaming to close its SeaTac casino, cutting 65 jobs
  • Closure marks a shift from restructuring plans to asset unwinding
  • Industry faces increasing pressure from costs, regulation, and changing demand

The move underscores how the regional operator’s bankruptcy has shifted from planned restructuring to a steady unwind of assets after it failed to find a buyer for the property.

Bankruptcy Pressure Mounts

The SeaTac closure follows Maverick’s Chapter 11 filing on July 14, 2025, in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas under the corporate name RunItOneTime LLC.

The company said at the time that it intended to pursue a restructuring or sale process. According to local reporting, Jeff Seery, the company’s chief restructuring officer, said that, “We are hopeful this process will allow us to right-size our underlying business operations and preserve value for the benefit of all stakeholders.”

The shutdown is Maverick’s fifth location closure since the filing, after earlier exits from four Washington cardrooms.

S&P Global Ratings also withdrew coverage in June 2025, citing insufficient information to maintain its view of the company. Across Washington State, tribal casinos have increasingly differentiated themselves by forming partnerships with major entertainment brands and event promoters. A recent partnership with Seattle Entertainment Group made them the official talent buyer and production consultant for Little Creek Casino Resort and Snoqualmie Casino & Hotel in Washington.
