Lotte Tour Development Post Record Q1 Driven by Jeju Dream Tower

Lotte Tour Development posted a record first quarter, underscoring how strongly its Jeju Dream Tower resort is now being driven by both gaming and hospitality demand.

According to local reporting, consolidated sales rose 28.1% year on year to KRW156.2 billion (US$107.8 million), while operating profit more than doubled to KRW28.8 billion (US$19.9 million).
Net loss narrowed sharply to KRW7.5 billion (US$5.2 million) from KRW23.7 billion (US$16.4 million) a year earlier.

Casino and hotel both moved higher

Casino revenue climbed 40.3% to KRW118.63 billion (US$81.9 million) as visitor traffic reached 150,553 and table drop expanded 36.7%.


Hotel performance also improved, with Grand Hyatt Jeju revenue up 20.2% to KRW38.14 billion (US$26.3 million) and occupancy rising to 75.9% from 55.3%.


The company said the gains reflected the combined strength of its casino and hotel businesses. This comes as Jeju Dream Tower reported a strong April of revenue, up 48.5% year-on-year to KRW48.84 billion (US$33.2 million).

Profitability trend strengthens


Food and beverage revenue increased 24.1% to KRW9.54 billion (US$6.6 million). Lotte Tour Development’s operating margin reached 18.4%, compared with 8.3% a year earlier.
