Caesars Officially Opens Lake Tahoe Site

Caesars Entertainment unveils the revamped Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino, featuring new dining and entertainment venues.

Caesars Entertainment has opened Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino on the South Shore, completing the latest stage of a multi-phase overhaul of the former Harveys Lake Tahoe.

The opening was marked with a champagne reception and ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring longtime Caesars collaborator Lisa Vanderpump, according to the company.

The project has turned the property into a more design-led resort while attempting to preserve the Lake Tahoe identity. It includes a redesigned lobby, a modernised gaming floor, refurbished rooms and an expanded mix of dining, nightlife and entertainment venues, the company said.

Caesars introduced the High Dive Pool & Lounge, refreshed its sportsbook, and updated poker, high-limit and table-game areas, as part of what it describes as a broader reinvention of the resort.

The headline additions are WOLF by Vanderpump, Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen and Tessie’s Cocktails & Chords, a lounge created with Clique Hospitality.

The opening also marked the end of the site’s development process which began phase two in February of this year.

‘Distinctive for this market’

In a statement, Anthony Carano, president and chief operating officer of Caesars Entertainment, said the company “set out to create something truly distinctive for this market”.

Karie Hall, senior vice-president and general manager of Harrah’s and Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe, said “our vision was to take everything guests have loved about this destination for decades and revitalize it through a more modern, design-forward lens.”

Caesars said the transformation began in 2025 and is scheduled to continue through 2026, with further work including pool upgrades, expanded meetings and conventions space and an improved fitness centre.

The company said the neighbouring Harrah’s Lake Tahoe and Caesars Republic together now offer nearly 1,250 guest rooms, giving the South Shore a larger combined resort footprint.
