The GGB Gaming & Technology Awards are the casino industry’s most prestigious awards for technology, products and services that enhance the gaming experience. The honors are designed to recognize and encourage innovation and technology in the rapidly changing casino industry.
Winners will be announced in the November 2020 issue of Global Gaming Business magazine. This year’s awards will be either sent to the winning participants or delivered personally for a photo opportunity.
Deadline is August 23, 2020. Nominations are now open in the following 6 categories:
• Best Guest Health & Safety Product *NEW CATEGORY*
As casinos reopen following the Covid-19 shutdown, products and services that can help them assure their customers are protected have been emerging—Plexiglas partitions, chip and card cleaner, universal testing, sensitization of machines and equipment, temperature devices, technology that shuts down adjacent slot machines or alerts employees that they need to be cleaned, and many more. The Best Guest Health & Safety Product recognizes those products and services that have met this challenge.
• Best Consumer-Service Technology
This category concerns technology that directly touches the customers. Whether it is an enhanced kiosk, a new player-tracking system, reservations system, or parking management system, or any other customer-friendly device, this technology directly impacts the experience of the customer. Why is this a step up from previous technologies?
• Best Productivity-Enhancement Technology
This category describes a technology that makes a job or task easier and more efficient. Examples could be an online accounting system, better technology for printing tickets on cashless slots, or an employee communications devise that allows a property to better explain its programs to its workers. How does this technology improve on the way the task or job had been previously performed?
• Best Slot Product
Very simply, this product is the judges’ favorite new slot product. It can be a brand new game or a traditional game that has been updated within the past 12 months. What makes this machine or game a step forward technologically?
• Best Table-Game Product or Innovation
The growth of table games continues to occur around the world and makes it important to recognize innovative developments in this area. In this category, nominations can be made for table games or any product related to table games.
• Best Interactive Product
Recognizing emerging technology, nominations are open to products that electronically connect customers with land-based or online casinos or gaming platforms.
