Soloviev and Mohegan Partner on RG Project at New York Freedom Plaza

The Soloviev Group and Mohegan have partnered up with the New York Council on Problem Gambling (NYCPG) on a responsible gambling initiative based at Freedom Plaza.

Based on-site at the New York City plaza, the Problem Gambling Resource Center will focus on promoting responsible gaming in the state. It will also offer support to individuals impacted by problem gambling.

Visitors will be able to access both “self-serve” and “full-serve” options. On-site trained professionals will deliver educational resources and referrals to those seeking assistance. Additional amenities include interactive kiosks, educational videos and coffee space.

The new project is modeled on similar initiatives at Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation PlaySmart Centres located at Mohegan’s Niagara casinos.

Soloviev will fund the design, construction and fit-out of the center. It will also work with the NYCPG on an initial and annual operating budget and participate in joint Problem Gambling Committee meetings.

Soloviev Committed to Player Health in New York

Soloviev CEO Michael Hershman said the project reflects the group’s wider drive to protect the health of players.

“This partnership reflects our commitment to building a venue that prioritizes the health and well-being of our guests,” he said. “By working together with the NYCPG, we’re establishing a gold standard for responsible gaming in New York.”

Mohegan CEO Ray Pineault added: “At Mohegan, we believe that creating a world-class gaming experience must go hand in hand with a deep commitment to responsible play. Partnering with the NYCPG to establish an onsite resource center at Freedom Plaza reflects our ongoing dedication to supporting guests and team members who may be struggling and ensuring they have access to the tools and support they need.

“This initiative is a critical step in fostering a safe, informed, and community-minded gaming environment for all.”
