Playtech Sets Sail with Retail Sports Betting Aboard MSC Cruises

Playtech retail sports betting solutions are now operating across seven MSC Cruises vessels.

Playtech has announced the launch of its retail sports betting rollout with MSC Cruises, the world’s third-largest cruise line.

The deployment follows an initial partnership announcement earlier this year. It marks the entrance of Playtech into the cruise leisure sector.

Guests can place bets on a range of sports events through self-service betting terminals and Playtech’s new mobile tills. This, the supplier said, will be seamlessly integrated with guests’ onboard accounts.

Playtech’s retail sports betting solutions are now operating across seven MSC Cruises vessels. Additional deployments have been scheduled over the coming months.

Sports Betting Complements Casinos for MSC Cruises

While casinos are a common feature across the MSC Cruises fleet, this is the first time retail sports betting will be available.

“We are very proud to be able to deliver the excitement and engagement of sports gaming to our guests through our partnership with Playtech,” said Mara Friso, head of casino at MSC Cruises. “Our fleet of modern cruise ships will provide our customers a wide array of immersive digital content as a complement to our state-of-the-art cruise casinos.”

Yori Arami, vice president of sports at Playtech, said Playtech was excited to be entering the cruise ship market for the first time.

“This partnership represents a significant milestone for Playtech as we continue to expand our offerings and provide unique, engaging experiences for players around the world on land and sea,” Arami said.
