Pari Mutuel Urbain Extends Retail Deal with Groupe NAP

France’s Paru Mutuel Urbain (PMU) has signed an extension to its strategic partnership with Groupe NAP, the company behind the Maison de la Presse and Point Plus retail brands.

Under the deal, PMU and Groupe NAP will continue to work together to offer retail betting to French players. Over 550 points of sale integrating PMU-powered betting are already in place in stores across the country.

The two groups aim to accelerate the pace of opening new horse racing betting outlets at Maison de la Presse and Point Plus locations.

In addition, PMU has committed to modernizing existing points with its latest technologies. This is in line with a wider strategy at PMU, with its physical network accounting for 85% of its total business.

Collaborative Approach from PMU and Groupe NAP

Other features of the deal include a commitment to share strategic data to identify high-potential areas. There will also be strengthened cooperation between the sales teams of both parties.

Meanwhile, the companies will run promotional and introductory events for horse racing betting. In addition, PMU and Groupe NAP will work together to support locations that are struggling.

“This partnership still reflects our shared desire to boost local retail and diversify our respective customer bases,” PMU Director of Commercial Networks Sylvain Dominé said. “The complementarity of our networks and the synergy of our teams have always been major assets in developing a unique customer experience.”

Groupe NAP President Arnaud Ayrolles added: “This partnership fits perfectly with our strategy of offering multi-service retail, combining convenience, entertainment, and digital innovation.

“In partnership with the PMU, we wish to continue to support the retailers of our brands in their transformation and to strengthen their central role in the local community.”
