Novomatic Americas – Stirring the Pots

Novomatic Americas continues to expand its product offering in North America, accelerating U.S. production in its two-year-old headquarters in the Chicago suburb of Buffalo Grove.

The company also is expanding its footprint in North America, moving into markets including Wisconsin, Minnesota, Puerto Rico and Canada.

This year, Novomatic is doubling down on what the company has done best. The company has always featured some of the best hardware in the industry, and this year is no exception. Global Gaming Expo will see the North American launch of the Diamond X 1.55J Quattro cabinet, an immersive form factor featuring a 55-inch J-curve monitor.

On the game side, Novomatic will add to its series of pot-filler games it featured at the Indian Gaming Tradeshow in April.

The Quattro cabinet has met with much success in Asian markets, its large format paired with a bank-wide overhead LED display centered on the top linked progressive jackpot. “We’ll be debuting it for North America at G2E with all new merchandising packages,” says Kathleen McLaughlin, Novomatic’s vice president of marketing, communications and corporate accounts for North America.

“We’ve maintained a heavy focus on cabinets, because that’s what we do well. In addition to the Quattro cabinet, we’ll be adding some new themes to the incredible Galaxy cabinet.”

The V.I.P. X Galaxy cabinet is like a home theater on the casino floor, with spin buttons built into the arms of an easy chair facing a giant monitor displaying the game.

Also new this year are the Black Edition II cabinet, featuring a 49-inch portrait monitor housing a series of progressive video slots in a solution that includes jackpot signage; and the Black Edition II XL, a large-format cabinet featuring a three-screen display.

Pot-Filler Emphasis

For G2E, Novomatic will highlight an expanded library of progressive games featuring pot-collection and hold-and-spin bonuses, building on titles launched at the Indian Gaming Tradeshow. One of those families, Ultra Boost 3 Treasures, will be featured on the V.I.P. X Royal cabinet, with its 85-inch monitor and theater-style chair.

Among the new multi-progressive slots Novomatic will display at G2E is the Rising Treasures series. The company will launch the first two games of the six-game series, Book of Ra Treasure Gods and Sizzling Hot Treasure Inferno. Both are three-pot games, the pots enhancing a hold-and-spin feature in which the spins reset at four instead of the normal three.

The collection pots are unique in the games. In Book of Ra—a brand extension of one of Novomatic’s biggest hits in Europe—the “Treasure Gods” are statues that activate when nine like-colored gems are collected during primary game spins.

In addition to “Collect,” which awards all cash-on-reels prizes on the screen instantly, and “Xtra Spin,” which extends the hold-and-spin round after four spins without a cash symbol, there is a “Free Games” enhancement in which the grid locks free-game symbols in place as awards, to be played out after the main hold-and-spin feature ends.

Sizzling Spins Treasure Inferno includes a “Winning Spins” enhancement that awards guaranteed-winning spins after the main feature ends.

All of the hold-and-spin games feature a grand jackpot that is awarded for filling all 15 reel spots with cash symbols.

The Rising Treasures series is one of several game families offering new twists to the pot-filler mechanic. Impera ProLink has a “Chain Reaction” pot that awards multiple cash-on-reels prizes in a single spin. New Clover Link Elements themes from Novomatic’s Apex Pro Gaming partner includes a hold-and-spin feature triggered by a single pot in which the second and third pots can be triggered during the feature.

Novomatic also is launching a sequel to its Piggy Prizes game family, Wish of Riches, a brick-and-mortar version of a popular game from Greentube, Novomatic’s online gaming subsidiary.

Other G2E highlights for Novomatic will be two new “volumes” of games for the Xtension Link multi-game unit, designed for VGT and VLT markets in Illinois, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Puerto Rico. These are mixes of 12 linked progressive games. There also will be new game mixes for the Superia, Impera Link, Gaminator and Golden Link multi-game families.

Expanding Markets

Novomatic will use G2E to launch Novo Unity Pro, its new electronic table game offering that includes three different roulette games, blackjack, sic bo and poker.

“We have a full suite of content on the ETG, which is competitive with everything in the market,” says Kirubakar Santhanam, vice president, product management for Novomatic Americas, “but we also have some proprietary games on there, and the three versions of roulette.”

The roulette offerings include Live Roulette, which connects all terminals to a dealer-operated live roulette table; Automated Roulette, which connects terminals to a fully automated wheel; and Virtual Roulette, which connects terminals to an RNG with screens displaying bets for a virtual wheel spin.

Santhanam notes that the ETG system allows remote play. “You don’t need the entire system everywhere; you just need the cabinets at a remote location,” he explains. “Customers are very interested in that because they can have one dealer and cut down on their overhead, and then stream out to their properties if they’re in the same jurisdiction. They can have one set of dealers running the wheels. That’s exciting for us. It’s very popular in Europe, and we’re bringing it forward here.”

In addition to the ETG market, Novomatic continues to expand into new markets including sports betting, with its ActionBook betting kiosks; and is marketing its NovoVision casino management system.

“NovoVision has gained some traction in the U.S.,” says McLaughlin. “There is a lot of interest with smaller tribes.”

Coming soon for Novomatic Americas, she adds, will be a wide-area progressive for emerging markets, as well as an expansion into historical horse racing.

“From a games perspective, we have a very solid roadmap,” McLaughlin says. “We’ve launched more games this year than we’ve ever launched, and we’re looking forward to doing the same going into 2026 as well.”
