Mike Dreitzer’s appointment as chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board is one of those rare instances when a gaming executive is appointed to lead this important organization rather than a political appointee. And it comes at a very opportune time when unlicensed and unregulated betting sites like sweepstakes casinos and prediction markets attempt to penetrate Nevada. Dreitzer has brought all the fire to bear on these illegal sites as well as recognizing that the state has fallen behind in bringing in new technology is a quick and efficient manner. He was appointed by Governor Joe Lombardo last year and hopefully his term will continue after a gubernatorial election occurs in 2026. He spoke with GGB Editor at Large Roger Gros in December of last year at the GCB offices in Las Vegas.
