Ellis Island Completes Stage One of $35 Million Las Vegas Expansion
Ellis Island Casino & Hotel in Las Vegas has completed the first phase of a $35 million major expansion project, including almost doubling the size of its gaming floor.
The off-Strip casino now houses a new gaming area featuring almost 250 new slot machines, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. Also within this area is a 25-seat center bar under a large LED screen and a permanent home for the new Boomer’s Sportsbook.
Phase one was completed ahead of the long Labor Day weekend. Phase two – refreshing the remaining portion of the existing casino floor – will begin in September, with Ellis Island aiming to complete this by the end of 2025.
The Ellis family has owned the venue since the late 1960s. Steelman Partners and Bentar Construction are responsible for the latest design and construction, respectively.
Ellis Island Committed to Value for Customers
Christina Ellis-Stalker, vice president of development at Ellis Island, praised the completion of phase one. She reiterated that despite the new look, the property will remain committed to delivering value for customers
“It’s in our core values,” Ellis-Stalker said. “It’s what’s made us popular amongst locals and industry workers and our loyal customers.
“We are Vegas. We are dedicated to maintaining those low drink prices, those value-driven deals, those $5 table games. It’s what made us.”
Steelman Partners Vice President of Strategy Suzanne Steelman Taylor added: “This expansion is about creating energy and connection — an elevated yet inviting environment that builds on the property’s legacy while introducing bold new experiences.”
