David Cordish, Chairman, The Cordish Companies
David Cordish joined the Cordish Companies in 1960, a company formed by his grandfather in 1910. The company was a large develop in the Baltimore/Washington D.C. area. Starting with the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Cordish gained a reputation as a developer who could turn around cities.
Cordish had directed the development of the Hard Rock properties owned by the Seminole Tribe in Florida, and since the company opened the first Cordish-owned casino in 2012, Live! Maryland, the gaming division has thrived. The Live! concept has both gaming and non-gaming applications and has been introduced in cities such as Philadelphia, Dallas, St. Louis, Bossier City, Louisiana and now Petersburg, Virginia. Cordish spoke with GGB Editor at Large, Roger Gros, at the East Coast Gaming Congress in Atlantic City in April.
