Casino Miami Details Plans for Arena Renovation and Rebrand

Casino Miami

Casino Miami in Florida has announced plans to undertake a major renovation and rebrand of its on-site Miami Jai-Alai venue and entertainment space.

The 1,500-seat facility will be renamed JAM Arena, short for Jai-Alai Miami Arena. It will adopt the new name after undergoing a multi-million-dollar reinvestment.

This project, Casino Miami said, will include upgraded amenities and family-friendly sports activations. Work is scheduled to begin in February of next year.

Once complete, the venue will be used to host sports, comedy, concerts, and cultural events. It will be operated by the World Jai-Alai League, the global organization for the Basque sport of jai-alai, which is similar to handball and racquetball.

‘New Era’ for Casino Miami

The new-look venue will open in what will be the centennial anniversary year for the Casino Miami site. Dan Licciardi, vice president and general manager of Casino Miami, said this will represent a “new era” for the location.

“As we approach the venue’s 100-year anniversary, we’re excited to introduce a refreshed sports and entertainment experience to this historic Miami landmark,” Licciardi said. “The added sports and entertainment activities will reactivate the facility’s place in Miami’s entertainment community. It will also broaden our patron amenities.”

Scott Savin, chief operating officer of the World Jai-Alai League, also welcomed the project. He said the arena will serve as a major attraction in the local region.

“Centrally located and family-friendly, JAM Arena will cast a bright new spotlight on South Florida’s top entertainers,” Savin said.
