Brightstar Lottery Lands Lotterywest Contract

Jumbo Interactive, which has an existing relationship with the lottery, will work alongside BrightStar.

Brightstar Lotterywest

Western Australia’s Lotterywest has awarded a contract for developing, implementing and supporting a new gaming solution and digital solution to Brightstar Lottery.

Under the deal, Brightstar will provide gaming and digital systems to Lotterywest. This will include software and hardware required to support both retail and digital channels.

As part of the arrangement, Jumbo Interactive, which has an existing relationship with the lottery, will work alongside BrightStar. This will involve it working as a subcontractor to provide components of the solution.

The supplier will provide its Jumbo Lottery Platform (JLP) for the website and mobile applications for the digital system. It will also contribute elements of its player account management module to the broader gaming system.

Lotterywest Targets 2027 Launch for New Platform

The transition from the existing Lotterywest platform to the new Brightstar-led solution will be executed in phases. A go-live date has been targeted for Q3 2027.

“The timing for delivery of the digital component is expected to follow thereafter, although the precise implementation timeline is still to be determined,” Jumbo said. “The final terms of the proposed subcontract arrangement between Jumbo and Brightstar remain subject to negotiation and board approval.”

Jumbo added that its existing SaaS agreement, held directly with Lotterywest, will remain unchanged. This covers the operation of the ‘Lotterywest by OzLotteries” digital channel.
