Fertittas on Front Lines for Online

The famous Fertitta family, founders of the Station Casinos franchise, has announced it is in line with other gaming entities for the advent of intrastate online gaming in Nevada.

Fertitta Interactive, founded by Lorenzo Fertitta, has applied to Nevada regulators for permission to run online poker games. In a statement, Fertitta said his company supports regulation for online poker and wants to offer the game in “a safe and well-regulated online environment.”

“Our industry-leading software has a track record of complying with the strictest regulations in jurisdictions around the world,” Fertitta said.

In October, the company acquired California-based CyberArts, an online gaming software provider. Fertitta had also entered into a partnership with Full Tilt Poker, but that deal went south after the indictments last year against Full Tilt and other major online poker sites.

In 2011, Nevada approved a bill that would allow companies to offer online poker within state borders, but the federal government must first approve it.
