Workers Hold Strike at CA Tribal Casino

Workers at California’s Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino held a three-day strike that ended July 14, as negotiations on a new labor contract continue. According to KSEE, union members have been frustrated with recent offers, especially with regards to health care benefits.

In response, the casino told the outlet that the wage increase requests from the union for some employees exceeded 80 percent, which would not be feasible. Following the short strike, workers have reported back to work although negotiations are ongoing.
