The Next Chapter for Global Gaming Business
Global Gaming Business is beginning a new chapter.
As part of our plans to build a global platform for the land-based gaming industry, GGB will become part of iGamingBusiness.com from February 2027, bringing our journalism, insight and industry expertise to a significantly larger international audience.
The GGB brand is going nowhere, however.
Since WorldGaming’s 2024 acquisition of the business, we have retained Global Gaming Business’ own editorial identity, dedicated sector coverage and podcasts. Our focus on commercial and tribal gaming will remain at the core of the offering.
By bringing GGB and iGaming Business together we create a global media destination spanning both land-based and online gaming. This unifies our media offering in a similar way to our industry-leading events ICE and iGB Live, which bring together the entire industry. A single platform makes it easier for our audience to gather insight, discover new products and spot market opportunities, while giving GGB’s reach greater reach than ever before.
Building a Global Land-Based Brand
GGB’s reputation was shaped over two decades as a source of news, analysis and insight, shaped by writers with deep expertise in the market. Going forward, we will build on that position by complementing the core North American coverage with increased reporting and analysis across Europe and Asia. This means more from the operators, suppliers, regulators, technology and trends evolving land-based gaming on a global scale, without losing the specialist knowledge and relationships that make GGB such a vital publication.
A New Approach to Print
Print will remain a core part of GGB’s offering, becoming more focused around the industry’s biggest events.
From 2027, GGB Magazine will move from 14 issues a year to three premium editions, focused around the moments when the industry comes together. In particular, we will continue to support our North American audience with publications for the Indian Gaming Tradeshow and Convention and Global Gaming Expo. At the same time, we will invest more in formats our audience increasingly uses throughout the year, in digital journalism, executive interviews, research and live discussions, not to mention the pioneering GGB Podcast, presented by founder Roger Gros.
This allows us to produce more timely and ambitious coverage across multiple formats, while continuing to create high-quality print editions around important industry gatherings.
More Journalism, More Formats
One global gaming media portal also allows us to pool resources, while we will build coverage around the subjects that matter most to tribal and commercial gaming operators through our ContentOS planning and intelligence framework, ensuring we tackle trends and developments as and when they emerge rather than being restricted to traditional publishing cycles.
This means we can support our news and analysis with deep explorations of industry themes across features, interviews, multimedia and webinars. We are looking to produce more useful, connected coverage that helps industry leaders understand what is changing, why it matters and how key industry stakeholders are reacting.
New Opportunities for Commercial Partners
This merger also means we can offer companies that want to tap into GGB’s senior industry audience new opportunities to do so. Alongside traditional advertising and sponsorship, commercial partners will be able to use a new Editorial Credits system to purchase sponsored content formats throughout the year.
These can support product launches, major company developments and wider marketing campaigns, with new formats such as game previews, company and technical features, podcasts and profiles.
Rather than planning each activation in isolation, partners will be able to top up accounts to ensure they can quickly deploy WorldGaming’s marketing services solutions at moments most relevant to their business. More information on Editorial Credits and the opportunities available will be shared directly with commercial partners.
The Gaming Industry is Changing, GGB is Too
We’re embarking on an exciting period of change for the gaming industry, and we’re aware the way people discover information, track developments and connect with peers is changing with it. Bringing Global Gaming Business into iGamingBusiness.com lets us evolve without losing what makes GGB so valuable to the industry in the first place.
Our investment in authoritative journalism, specialist industry knowledge and GGB’s relationships throughout the industry will continue, but now it will be supported by a larger global platform, broader international coverage and new formats to deliver information.
This is a significant change, but with a simple goal: to make Global Gaming Business more vital, more accessible and even more influential for the industry it has served since its launch.
