Star Entertainment Names Pasquariello as Non-Executive Director
Australia’s Star Entertainment Group has announced the appointment of Don Pasquariello as a Non-Executive Director, subject to regulatory and ministerial approvals.
Pasquariello has more than 40 years of experience in audit, assurance and professional services. This includes spells as senior client service partner with both Deloitte and KPMG.
During his career, he has worked with major companies across the property, construction, infrastructure, entertainment, hospitality and healthcare sectors.
Pasquariello is currently the chair of the Oliver Hume Property Group of Companies. He is also an advisory board director of Villawood Properties Group, a director of St Vincents Institute of Medical Research and a director of Jesuit Education Australasia.
Pasquariello Continues Board Refreshment at Star
Star Chairman Anne Ward welcomed the appointment. She said it forms part of the group’s ongoing “refreshment” of its board.
“I am pleased to welcome Don to the board of Star,” Ward said. “I look forward to his contribution as we continue the ongoing process of board renewal and refreshment that is currently underway.”
Pasquariello added: “I am excited to be joining The Star at this critical time as the company completes its remediation and cultural reset. I look forward to working closely with the board and leadership team to position the business for sustainable long-term growth.”
Ministerial approval for the appointment is required due to regulatory scrutiny and remediation in Australia. This followed inquiries in New South Wales and Queensland that found governance failures and compliance breaches.
As part of its conditional licence retention, any board or executive appointments must receive prior ministerial or regulatory approval.
