SkyCity Entertainment Chief Risk Officer Steps Down

SkyCity Kidd

Oceania-facing SkyCity Entertainment Group has announced that Carolyn Kidd is to exit her role as chief risk officer of the business on January 31.

Kidd has served in the role since she joined the company in April 2023. She was previously also chief risk officer at Westpac New Zealand for six-and-a-half years.

Earlier in her career, she worked in the same role at Bankwest, part of Commonwealth Bank, and at ASB Bank. She also had a stint as head of business credit at Westpac New Zealand.

SkyCity confirmed Kidd had resigned but did not disclose the reasons for her departure.

Kidd Played ‘Essential’ Role for SkyCity

Commenting on the exit, SkyCity CEO Jason Walbridge said Kidd played an “essential” part in improving certain systems across the group.

“Carolyn has played an essential role in strengthening our risk capability in New Zealand and Australia,” he said. “This included uplift across host responsibility, financial crime and enterprise risk management.

“I am grateful for her leadership and the positive impact she has made during her time with SkyCity.”

Walbridge added that SkyCity remains “firmly committed” to its long-term transformation program. This comes on the back of regulatory reviews and license conditions in both New Zealand and Australia, with the group having put in place measures to address the issues raised.
