Scientific Games Unveils Fluorescent Marking System for Scratch Games

Scientific Games has announced details of a new fluorescent marking system for lottery extended play scratch games.

The new GlowMark marking system reveals a contrasting neon fluorescent color when the player scratches the play area. This, Scientific Games said, will support customers playing scratch games such as crossword and bingo.

The supplier added that the innovation comes in response to rising demand for fluorescent color in scratch games. It said scratch games featuring fluorescent inks represented more than 12% of games in the market by fiscal year 2025.

In addition, $10 scratch games with fluorescent inks outperformed other $10 games by nearly 9% in 2025.

Scientific Games Aims to Improve Player Experience

Danielle Hodges, senior director, global product innovation and development at Scientific Games, talked up the potential of GlowMark. She said it will help improve the overall experience of scratch games.

“Our Innovation and Discovery teams developed this innovation by using fluorescents to enhance the scratch game experience and are now thrilled to debut GlowMark, our newest advancement in extended play marking systems,” she said.

“GlowMark gives games a strong, visually appealing contrast between the marked and unmarked areas of the game, adding excitement with glowing neon colors.”

GlowMark will be made available to clients across the U.S., Canada and the U.K.
