Resorts World New York City to Launch First Live Table Games
Resorts World New York City is set to become the first venue in New York City to offer live table games, a milestone that gives the Queens property an early lead in the state’s broader casino expansion.

- Resorts World NYC to open the city’s first live table games on April 28
- Over 240 table games and thousands of slots to be available
- Significant job growth and workforce development ongoing in Queens
According to the company’s statement, the opening is scheduled for Tuesday at 9:30AM (EDT), pending final testing by the New York State Gaming Commission.
The site, next to Aqueduct Racetrack, will feature more than 240 table games, including blackjack, craps, baccarat and roulette, alongside thousands of slot machines.
A Head Start in Queens
The launch matters because Resorts World was already positioned for casino use, allowing it to move faster than rival projects in the Bronx and at Metropolitan Park. All three sites gained license approval at the end of 2025.
“New York City has never seen anything like what we’re planning for April 28,” Robert DeSalvio, president of Genting Americas East, said.
The launch comes as Resorts World New York City requested for New York regulators to adopt a uniform tax regime for the downstate casinos once operations have begun.
“If other Downstate Licensees open with lower tax rates on slots or tables, RWNYC’s tax rate should also be lowered because all proposed sites are close together and the same tax rate should apply to maintain a level playing field and avoid cannibalization,” the company said.
Workforce Implications
Resorts World says its training pipeline has become a core part of the buildout, with more than 350 residents trained through its Introduction to Gaming Workforce Development Program and more than 400 hired through its Dealer School.
The company said the new phase follows a major hiring push that added 1,250 jobs, including 950 table-game dealers.
“Resorts World now employees over 2,200 Team Members and have already doubled our workforce and expect thousands more Team Members as the integrated resort is developed over the next three years.”
“This is a transformational moment for Resorts World New York City, and we cannot wait to share it with our fellow New Yorkers.”
