Pennsylvania Gaming Industry Exceeds $7bn For FY26/27
Sports wagering was a strong performer despite the Joint State Government Commission recommending a potential restriction on live in-game wagering
Pennsylvania’s gaming industry has passed the $7bn mark for the first time in a fiscal year, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
Total revenue for fiscal 2025/26 reached $7,005,987,435.
The board also said tax and fee receipts returned to the commonwealth hit a record $3,098,193,583, with the money helping to fund school property tax relief, economic development and agricultural support linked to horse racing.
The board said iGaming was the biggest revenue driver for the second year in a row. Pennsylvania’s retail casinos still contributed heavily, but their growth was far more subdued, with slot-machine revenue essentially flat and table-game takings slipping modestly.
Strong Sports Wagering Numbers
Sports wagering was another strong performer, with the board reporting a rise of 35.95% to $662.9m. By contrast, video gaming terminals made only a marginal gain and fantasy contests declined.
Among the state’s land-based properties, Parx Casino remained the largest contributor in the slots category, while Wind Creek Bethlehem led table-game revenue.
Just this week, the Joint State Government Commission, a bipartisan research body, recommended potential restrictions on live in-game wagering and advertising to curb problem gambling and protect youth from betting promotions.
