Penn Sets December Opening Date for Second Hotel Tower at M Resort
Penn Entertainment has announced plans to open the second hotel tower at its M Resort Spa Casino Las Vegas to the public on December 1, pending customary regulatory approvals.
Confirmation of the date means the project, which is costing Penn approximately $206 million, will open months ahead of schedule.
Once open, the new tower will nearly double the capacity of the property south of the Las Vegas Strip. Penn will soon be able to offer 765 rooms and suites to visitors at M Resort.
In addition, Penn is adding more meeting space at the property, with the new 15,000-square-foot Montese Ballroom set to open on October 1. The wider expansion project will create 120 new jobs at the Las Vegas property.
M Resort Partners Emeril Group for New Restaurant
Alongside this, Penn and M Resort will link up with Emeril Group to open a new restaurant at the site. Meril, a New Orleans-based neighborhood restaurant, will launch at M Tower.
Emeril Group was founded by chef Emeril Lagasse. This will mark the second location of the concept, named after Lagasse’s daughter, Meril.
“This new tower and restaurant from Emeril Group expands our market-leading amenities at M Resort and provides much-needed additional room capacity for group business and the overall strong demand of the Henderson locals market,” Penn CEO and President Jay Snowden said.
The new M Resort hotel tower will be the second completed development of Penn’s growth projects. In August, it opened new land-based casinos in Joliet and Aurora, both in Illinois, as well as a new hotel in Columbus, Ohio.
