Paradise is stepping up its responsible gambling push with a youth-focused campaign aimed at steering teenagers away from online betting and towards safer forms of ambition.

The casino operator, according to the Korea Times, said it has fully funded a prevention advert developed with the Korea Problem Gambling Agency, with the video due to run on television and digital platforms at the end of October.

Titled “I play a different game”, the campaign is designed to speak to younger audiences in their own language, using imagery and messaging built around goals, opportunities and personal development.

Youth Messaging Gets a Public Platform

The move comes as regulators and industry groups in South Korea keep a close watch on the growing reach of online gambling among young people.

According to the Korea Problem Gambling Agency, the wider prevention ecosystem includes counselling, helplines, regional support centres and links to treatment providers, underlining how the issue has moved well beyond awareness into public health and social policy.

The cases of teenage gambling in South Korea have been on the uptick. A recent study by the National Gambling Control Commission found that around 5,838 people aged 19 or younger received treatment or counselling last year for gambling related harms.

Illegal online gambling accounted for 57.7% of those cases, underscoring how quickly digital platforms have become the main entry point for minors.

Prevention Enters the Classroom

Additionally, last month the Gyeonggi Province’s Office of Education entered into a youth gambling prevention agreement with Korea’s Gambling Control Commission (KGCC). The pact aimed to establish a systemic policy cooperation mechanism targeting youth gambling prevention and student safeguarding.

Rather than implementing short-term campaigns, the focus was on embedding gambling prevention into everyday school routines.
