Novomatic Confirms Appointment of First Chairwoman

Novomatic has announced the appointment of Birgit Wimmer as the first chairwoman of its supervisory board.

Wimmer will replace Bernd Oswald, who served on the Novomatic board for 10 years. He will now take up another position in the group of companies.

Wimmer has been active for several years in central governance functions across a number of companies. This included a spell as managing director of NOVO Invest.

“As chairwoman, I look forward to working with my colleagues on both the supervisory board and executive board as we help to successfully shape the group’s strategic and sustainable development,” Wimmer said.

Deputy Chair Also Appointed at Novomatic

In related news, Novomatic also confirmed Haig Asenbauer as its new deputy chairman. An internationally experienced lawyer, Asenbauer has expertise in cross-border M&A, company reorganization and complex investment structures.

Meanwhile, Martina Flitsch will continue as a member of the supervisory board. Flitsch has experience in international group structures, as well as providing strategic and legal support for corporate investments.

In addition, finance and capital markets expert Robert Hofians will remain on the board. He has experience across both governance and regulation in his roles as a professor and public accountant.
