MGM China Promotion Elevates Kenneth Feng to CEO

Kenneth Feng CEO Promotion

MGM China has promoted Kenneth Xiaofeng Feng to chief executive officer, effective December 19, as the Macau-focused operator reshuffles senior management.

Key Takeaways:

  • Promotion for Kenneth Feng as CEO with a three-year contract amid leadership reshuffle
  • Feng’s extensive MGM experience brings regulatory and operational expertise
  • Long-serving executive Hubert Wang departs, replaced by internal promotions in Macau management

Executive Promotion Signals Stable Leadership Transition

Feng, 55, has been with MGM Resorts International since 2001 and rose through finance, strategy, operations and development roles before becoming president and executive director of MGM China.

According to Sigma World, Feng signed a fixed three-year contract with a base salary of $1.5 million and remains eligible for a discretionary bonus. MGM China’s 2024 annual report shows total compensation of HKD 24.2 million over the prior 12 months and 2,861,100 share options.

Feng’s long tenure brings regulatory and operational continuity as Macau’s market recalibrates post-pandemic, aligning with MGM China’s stated focus on sharpening execution and customer-led operations.

His prior positions at MGM Resorts included vice president of international operations (2007) and executive vice president of MGM International Operations (2017), which the company says equipped him with experience in global expansion and compliance that will be central to the role.

Financial disclosure and regulatory filings underpin the compensation and governance arrangements, including retirement by rotation and re-election at annual general meetings.

Management Reshuffle Reshapes Senior Macau Leadership

Leadership changes also include the immediate departure of long-serving president and COO Hubert Wang and the appointment of Tian Han as COO. MGM’s announcement, as reported by Inside Asian Gaming, said Wang was leaving “to pursue personal aspirations.” The company named Antonio Menano as chief legal officer among other shifts.

The succession signals an internal promotion strategy aimed at steadying operations while maintaining executive continuity in Macau.
