Merkur Group Finalizes Acquisition of Gaming Arts

Germany’s Merkur Group has completed its acquisition of Las Vegas-based slot supplier Gaming Arts, LLC. Merkur was granted a Nevada manufacturer’s license in May, the same month the acquisition was approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission.

“The acquisition is a key element of our re‐entry strategy into the U.S. market, one of the most respected and strictly regulated gaming markets worldwide,” said Dominik Raasch, management board member, Merkur Games. “With Gaming Arts, we are now able to place Merkur products directly in a wide range of U.S. jurisdictions. This marks an important step in expanding our international growth beyond European borders.”

Gaming Arts’ current 68-member team develops slot machines, games, bingo and keno solutions, as well as electronic table games, with a clear focus on the requirements and preferences of the U.S. market. As part of the acquisition, the portfolio will be expanded to include Merkur cabinets, highlighted by the recent U.S. launch of the Mod Ex family paired with Gaming Arts game content.
