Melco to Close Mocha Grand Dragon Hotel Next Week

Melco Resorts & Entertainment has announced that it will close its Mocha Grand Dragon Hotel property in Macau on November 24.

According to Macau Business, 44 casino workers at the venue will be moved to other Melco properties in Macau. Melco will also relocate all electronic gaming machines from the site to other venues.

The group secured official approval from the Macao SAR Government for the closure. This is in line with new regulatory requirements in the region regarding the shuttering of properties.

The Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau also signed off on the upcoming closure of Mocha Grand Dragon Hotel.

Customers can redeem gaming slips at Melco’s Altira Casino, Mocha Inner Harbor, Mocha Golden Dragon and Mocha Sintra Hotel.

Another Macau Closure for Melco

The Mocha Grand Dragon Hotel will be the latest Melco property in Macau to shut its doors.

In September, Melco closed satellite casinos the Grand Dragon Casino and Mocha Kuong Fat Slots Club. This was in line with an ongoing industry transition toward larger integrated resorts.

At the time, Melco also referenced the future closure of both the Mocha Grand Dragon Hotel and Mocha Royal Hotel. The group is yet to confirm its plans for the latter of these venues.
