IGT Scores Rhode Island Lottery Sports Betting Extension
International Game Technology has signed an extension to its multi-channel sports betting partnership with the Rhode Island Lottery.
Under the deal, IGT will continue to power statewide retail and mobile sports betting in Rhode Island. This will include the provision of its IGT PlaySports technology
The provider has been working alongside Caesars Sportsbook and the Rhode Island Lottery to deliver sports betting since 2018.
The two-year extension will run through at least November 2028.
‘Premier’ Betting Product in Rhode Island
Joe Bertolone, senior vice president of sports betting at IGT, said the extension will ensure players in Rhode Island continue to have access to a “premier” betting offering.
“IGT is very pleased to continue our long-term relationship with the Rhode Island Lottery through 2028,” he said. “This will help generate important revenue for the state through its sports betting operations powered by PlaySports technology.
“IGT PlaySports continues to invest in the Sportsbook Rhode Island app to ensure the lottery offers a premier betting product that makes a positive impact on the state’s commitments to good causes.”
Rhode Island was one of the first states to launch legal sports betting following the repeal of PASPA in May 2018. Its retail market went live in November 2018, with online following in September 2019.
