IGT Celebrates 30th Anniversary of Wheel of Fortune, Events in Mexican and California Casinos

IGT is kicking off an extended celebration of the 30th anniversary of the legendary Wheel of Fortune slots.

Famous for awarding players $1 million-plus life-changing jackpots and the familiar “Wheel… of… FORTUNE!” chant that can be heard across a casino floor, Wheel of Fortune is credited for changing the casino experience as the gaming industry’s first licensed slot game.

To recognize the milestone, IGT kicked off a multi-month celebration that includes new product launches, coast-to-coast in-casino celebrations, contests run via Instagram and Facebook, slot influencer collaborations, a new creative campaign, a week of integrations to be featured on TV’s Wheel of Fortune, and more.

Also last month, IGT announced that it opened a Vive Las Vegas lounge at Casino Caliente Hipódromo in Tijuana, Mexico. This Vive Las Vegas lounge, a proven concept in Latin America, features more than 40 IGT slot games, including high-performing themes like Money Gong, Magic Treasures Gold and Crown Link on proven hardware from IGT’s Peak family of cabinets.

In addition, the company reported that guests at Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel in Highland, California were the first players in the world to experience the entertainment of the new Wheel of Fortune Cash on Reels video slot game on the striking RISE55 cabinet.
