Hard Rock Casino Tejon Hosts Grand Opening
Hard Rock International and the Tejon Indian Tribe have hosted the grand opening of the new Hard Rock Casino Tejon in Kern County, California.
The venue officially opened on November 13, marked with Hard Rock’s iconic Guitar Smash Ceremony. The event featured a color guard presentation, a tribal blessing, and a $100,000 charitable donation.
Featuring 150,000 square feet of gaming space, the venue has over 2,000 slot machines and more than 50 table games. Other features include VIP high-limit rooms and several dining destinations.
“This destination represents our tribe’s vision, resilience, and longstanding commitment to creating opportunity for future generations,” said Octavio Escobedo III, chairman of the Tejon Indian Tribe. “We are proud to see this project come to life and to celebrate this moment alongside our partners and our community.”
Work to Continue at Hard Rock with Phase Two
So far, the project has created over 1,000 permanent jobs and over 5,000 construction-related roles. This, Hard Rock said, represents the largest private hospitality investment in Kern County’s history.
Phase two of the project will introduce a 400-room hotel and the 2,800-seat Hard Rock Live venue. The latter will be designed to host concerts, performances, and sporting events.
In total, the whole development is expected to cost $600 million.
“Hard Rock Casino Tejon is only the beginning,” said Jim Allen, chairman of Hard Rock International and CEO of Seminole Gaming. “Phase II will bring the full Hard Rock experience to life with a world-class hotel and Hard Rock Live entertainment venue that will make Kern County a premier destination for travelers, artists, and fans from across California and beyond.”
