Key Takeaways:

  • Justin Wyborn appointed as SVP and GM to lead Hard Rock Las Vegas project
  • Construction advances with a scheduled late 2027 opening, amid high industry stakes
  • The megaresort aims to be the first tribal-owned property on the Strip, transforming Las Vegas hospitality

Wyborn, who joined Hard Rock in 2013 and most recently led Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati, brings about 25 years of international hospitality experience, including roles at the Savoy in London, the Star Hotel & Casino in Sydney and a 12-year period with Nobu.

The appointment lands at a time when parts of the Las Vegas market are navigating demand headwinds. Recent reporting has highlighted a visitor slowdown that affected gaming revenues at several Strip operators in 2025.

Wyborn will report to Hard Rock Las Vegas President Joe Lupo as the property advances through construction on the Strip.

The redevelopment is intended to be the first tribal-owned megaresort on the Strip and is being positioned as a transformational, large-scale destination that will shift attention from other recent investments.

Hard Rock leadership has described the project as on schedule and within budget, while planning documents filed with Nevada authorities and local reporting now target a late 2027 opening window.

The resort is expected to include roughly 3,600 rooms, about 175,000 square feet of gaming, thousands of slots and more than 200 table games, extensive F&B and entertainment assets, and significant meeting capacity.
