Grover Gaming Founder Launches New Valicy Gaming Land-Based Brand

Garrett Blackwelder, the founder of Grover Gaming, has announced the launch of a new land-based gambling brand in the form of Valicy Gaming.

Valicy will operate as manufacturer in land-based gambling, with a focus on the North American market. The new business has been named by combining the names of Blackwelder’s daughters.

The launch of the new entity comes after the recent sale of the Grover Gaming business to Light & Wonder. The $1.05 billion deal closed earlier this year.

Valicy will continue to run under the same experienced executive leadership team as Grover Gaming. It will also retain a majority of the employees from the acquisition.

‘Exciting’ Development for Valicy Gaming

Detailing the launch, Blackwelder said Valicy would also adopt similar values to the now-sold Grover Gaming business. This, he added, will include its CARE triangle: people, company, and work.

Initial focus areas for the new business will include game development and hardware design.

“This is an exciting time for our teams,” said Blackwelder, who will lead Valicy as CEO. “We now have the opportunity to do big things in new markets, which gives us energy and enthusiasm.

“As we grow Valicy, we will focus on relationships, excellence, and innovation.”
