Genting Singapore Appoints New Resorts World Sentosa Chair

Genting Singapore has announced the appointment of Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay as chairman and director of its Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) business.

Tan Sri Lim assumed the position in addition to his other duties within the wider Genting Singapore business. The appointment was made official on February 1.

He has been chairman of Genting Singapore since November 1993. Tan Sri Lim also became executive chairman in September 2005 and has been acting CEO since June 2025.

“The board is satisfied that Tan Sri Lim has the qualifications and experience to be appointed as the chairman and director,” Genting Singapore said.

Strategic Focus for Resorts World Sentosa

As RWS chairman, Tan Sri Lim will assume responsibility for the overall effectiveness of the subsidiary’s board. This includes strategic direction and overseeing its governance for RWS.

Core responsibilities will include ensuring corporate governance, regulatory compliance and ethical standards. This will also include strategic oversight of long-term objectives, major projects and sustainability priorities.

Tan Sri Lim will also oversee senior management performance, including appointing a new permanent CEO for RWS. In addition, he will engage with key stakeholders on governance and strategic matters.

The day-to-day management of RWS remains the responsibility of management under the leadership of the RWS CEO.
