Former Louisiana Gaming Control Board Chair Ronnie Jones Joins Penn Compliance Committee
Penn Entertainment has announced the appointment of former Louisiana Gaming Control Board (LGCB) Chair Ronnie Jones to its Compliance Committee.
Jones becomes an independent, non-director member, with the move formally approved by the company’s board of directors.
Jones brings more than four decades of public service experience, including over 30 years with the Louisiana State Police and seven years as chair of the LGCB, where he oversaw regulatory operations for all forms of gaming in the state. His tenure included oversight of Louisiana’s riverboat casinos, racetrack slots, land-based casinos and thousands of video poker establishments.
“Ronnie is a well-respected leader in the regulated gaming space,” said Penn President and CEO Jay Snowden. “His wealth of industry experience will be an asset to the important work of the Compliance Committee, which is central to our longstanding commitment to gaming industry compliance and integrity.”
During his time as LGCB chair, Jones played a key role in establishing the regulatory groundwork that contributed to the eventual legalization of sports betting in Louisiana in 2022. He was recognized in 2017 as North American Regulator of the Year by the International Masters of Gaming Law.
The Compliance Committee at Penn is chaired by independent member Thomas N. Auriemma and includes board members Johnny Hartnett and Carlos Ruisanchez.
PENN operates in 28 jurisdictions throughout North America, with brands including Hollywood Casino and ESPN BET. It has a portfolio of casinos, racetracks, and online sports betting and iCasino offerings.
