Fernandez Takes Over as IGT CEO, Khin Steps Down

IGT announced that Hector Fernandez has officially joined the company as CEO. His appointment was announced a year ago, as part of the merger of IGT and Everi under associates of the private equity firm Apollo.
Fernandez brings a strong track record of success in gaming and technology to his role at IGT, having most recently served as CEO of Aristocrat Gaming.
Fernandez was with Aristocrat for six years, including two as CEO. He also was president, Americas & EMA and CFO for the Americas at that company. Prior to Aristocrat, he served four years at Western Digital as an executive in planning and finance and held executive finance positions at Cydcor and Amgen.
Over the course of his career, Fernandez has been recognized for his leadership role in strategic initiatives that propelled market share, revenue growth and increased profitability. He is based in Las Vegas, home of IGT’s global headquarters.
IGT also announced that Nick Khin, who had served as interim enterprise CEO and CEO of the gaming business unit, will be stepping down from his position with the company and transitioning into a role as a strategic adviser to the senior leadership team and board of directors.
Fernandez will assume the role of CEO of the combined enterprise and oversee the gaming business unit following receipt of regulatory approvals.
