This new video slot on Konami’s Solstice 49C portrait cabinet is packed with features triggered by three main collection pots, represented by different-colored bombs above the reels.
The base game is a five-reel game, with 20 or 40 paylines, depending on the denomination. The central feature of the two-game family—Bomberman Boom and Bomberman Blast—is the Bomber Game, a hold-and-spin feature with a wealth of extra bonuses depending on bomb symbols landing on each spin.
When triggered, the screen transforms from the normal three-by-five-reel array to a five-by-five grid, with blocks covering the top and bottom positions of all reels. Bomb symbols landing near the blocks during the feature explode them to reveal credit awards, one of the lower-level jackpots or “FireFace” symbols that expand the blast area of the bombs. During the feature, “2X Bombs” appear, which double the cash or jackpot awards in the blast area.
Jackpot Bomb symbols on the middle reels trigger a jackpot picking feature. The screen displays 18 egg symbols, and the player selects eggs, the goal being to match three to win one of the five jackpots, including the top Grand progressive, which resets at $10,000. The player also can reveal three Bomber Game symbols to trigger the main hold-and-spin
bonus event.
Free Game Bomb symbols on the middle reels trigger five free games, with cards appearing that increase the value of picture symbols landing on the reels. The Bomber Game and Jackpot features can be triggered during the free spins, as well as a retriggering of the free-game feature.
