Bay Mills Resort & Casino Reopens After Partial Ceiling Collapse

Bay Mills

Bay Mills Resort & Casino in Brimley, Michigan has reopened after a partial ceiling collapse in an on-site restaurant led to a temporary closure of the venue.

The incident took place at Sacy’s Restaurant on January 6, Bay Mills said in a statement on its Facebook page. Law enforcement, emergency medical services and the fire department were in attendance.

Preliminary observations indicated the collapse may have been related to broken roof trusses. However, Bay Mills said the situation remained under assessment.

Shortly after the collapse, Bay Mills evacuated its gaming floor as a precaution. However, after clearance from the emergency services, the casino reopened just several hours later.

Minor Adjustments for Bay Mills

While most of the venue will operate as normal, Sacy’s Restaurant will remain closed until further notice. As such, Back Bay Grill & Games, also located at Bay Mills, will instead serve the traditional breakfast buffet.

“We are working hard to minimize any impact on our guest experience and appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to provide the best service possible,” Bay Mills said.

“Guests traveling to and from the hotel and main casino floor are asked to use the walkway for access.”

In addition to a casino and several restaurants, Bay Mills features a 142-room hotel, physical sportsbook, RV park and golf course.
