Aristocrat Enters Patent License Arrangement with Ainsworth

Aristocrat Gaming announced it has entered into a patent license arrangement with Ainsworth Game Technology Limited in Australia.

“Under this patent license arrangement with Ainsworth, we are granting a royalty-bearing license to our game play patents including our Hold & Spin patent family in Australia,” Aristocrat said in a statement.

In addition, Aristocrat has granted Ainsworth a royalty-free license to its responsible gaming patents. These inventions are directed to responsible gaming and safer play, digital wallet and account-based play technologies, configurable player limits, self-exclusion and activity-based tools and player messaging including emerging AI-enabled approaches.

“This royalty-free license reflects Aristocrat’s commitment to empowering safer play through technology, and its view that responsible gaming innovations should be made broadly available across the industry,” the statement said.

“We welcome this arrangement with Ainsworth,” said Aristocrat Chief Product Officer Matthew Primmer. “Innovation and creativity sit at the heart of what we do. We are committed to protecting the great work of our dedicated creative and technical teams.”

The commercial terms of the arrangement were not disclosed.
