Allwyn Partners with Gopuff for National Lottery Scratchard Delivery

Allwyn Gopuff

Allwyn, operator of the UK’s National Lottery, has linked up with on-demand convenience delivery company Gopuff to launch a new physical scratchcard delivery service.

Initially, players in 16 cities across England and Wales will be able to have scratchcards delivered to their homes. Allwyn said customers could receive scratchcards as quickly as 15 minutes after ordering, alongside other everyday essentials.

Customers will face a limit of 10 scratchcards per transaction. This is in line with the same limit for in-store purchases, which Allwyn introduced in 2024 after it took control of the National Lottery.

Other responsible gambling measures included within the new deal will be ID checking. All players purchasing scratchcards will need to present some form of ID.

Convenience key for Allwyn

Allwyn’s retail revenue and customer director Alison Acquaye-Acford welcomed the new initiative. She said it further strengthens the operator’s commitment to retail growth in the UK.

Earlier in January, Allwyn UK created a new retail managing director role, with experienced, consumer-focused executive Bridget Lea appointed to the position.

“We’re always looking at ways to respond to the ever-evolving retail environment and the changing ways people are buying grocery products – with ease and convenience being key factors,” Acquaye-Acford said. “Through this new partnership with Gopuff, we’re doing just that.”

Alberto Menolascina, senior vice president of UK and new business at Gopuff, agreed the deal would improve overall customer experience.

“Since launching the pilot program last month, our customers have shown an immediate interest in this new offering,” Menolascina said. “This is instant commerce in action, giving customers what they want, when they want it, safely and conveniently.”
