AGEM October 2025 Recap

Eric Fisher and Rick Velotta were named recipients of the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers’ (AGEM) 2025 Memorial Awards at G2E 2025. Fisher received the Jens Halle Memorial Award for Excellence in Commercial Gaming Professionalism, and Velotta received the Peter Mead Memorial Award for Excellence in Gaming Media & Communications. The awards, honoring the lasting impacts of Halle and Mead, were presented at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) in Las Vegas on October 8, 2025. Fisher, formerly of Crane Payment Innovations, advanced payment technologies, driving casino operator revenue and enhancing player experiences through innovations like Easitrax Connect. Velotta, a veteran journalist at the Las Vegas Review-Journal, has covered gaming for over 35 years, reporting on economic impacts, regulatory changes, and industry trends. AGEM recognizes their significant contributions to the gaming industry, continuing the legacy of excellence embodied by Halle and Mead.

• G2E provided a great opportunity for Daron Dorsey and Tracy Cohen to meet with proposed members of the newly formed Europe Committee. Initial discussions were very positive with members acknowledging the benefits of addressing key issues that affect many of the supplier sector, as a collective with one voice. The first virtual meeting is due to take place in early December, followed by an in-person gathering at ICE Barcelona in January. Europe is an extremely important region for our industry and AGEM looks forward to working with and being able to support the membership.

• Following a productive meeting with the European Casino Association (ECA) at G2E, AGEM is pleased to announce it will once again be supporting this important regional partner in 2026. This will consist of sponsorship for the ECA Casino Industry Forum, ECA Scholarship Programme to the Executive Development Programme and the European Dealer Championship, taking place at the iconic Baden-Baden Casino, Germany, at the beginning of June next year. AGEM has enjoyed a strong relationship with the ECA for many years and looks forward to continuing this in the future.
