Canadian passport as dollar parity promotion extends

Key Takeaways:

  • Over 15,000 Canadians used the dollar parity offer in the first month
  • Program to run through August 2026 after successful initial response
  • Casinos aim to revive Canadian demand and boost international tourism

According to Circa Resort & Casino announcement, more than 15,000 Canadians used the offer in its first 30 days. It generated over 2,700 room reservations prompting the operators to extend the dollar parity program through August 31, 2026.

“Eligible Canadian guests receive $1 USD in value for every $1 CAD spent, regardless of daily exchange rates”, explains the announcement.

The initiative, rolled out in late January by Circa Resort & Casino, the D Las Vegas and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, aims to blunt exchange-rate friction and revive a market that industry data show has been softening.

Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority figures indicate visitation declined in 2025.

“’At Par’ has created real momentum with our Canadian guests right out of the gate, and that means a lot to me, personally, given my lifelong connection to Canada,” Derek Stevens, CEO of all three establishments said in the announcement.

Promoted perks include up-to-$500 slot promotional play for eligible patrons and parity-priced concert tickets for Canadian performers.

The program is a targeted demand stimulus that could be replicated if it continues to drive bookings. Executives frame it as removing a practical barrier for travelers and bundling value with entertainment programming to accelerate recovery of a crucial international segment.
