Piñata Pays

Piñata Pays

This game, featured on the AGS Orion Curve Premium cabinet, combines a pot-style bonus with a hold-and-re-spin feature. The two inaugural games in the series are Mariachi Party and Lucha Champions.

The base game is a five-reel, 30-line video slot. Functioning as the “pots” above the reels are a green pig piñata, a red donkey piñata and a blue eagle piñata. Green, red and blue cash-on-reels coins feed coins up to the piñatas, causing them to grow fatter until one piñata bursts to trigger the hold-and-re-spin event.

When a green cash-on-reels coin triggers the Pig Bonus, the player is awarded four free spins with the triggering coin locked in place. Every time one or more green cash-on-reels symbols lands on a free spin, it locks in place and the spin meter returns to four. The red cash-on-reels symbol triggers the Donkey Bonus. Three locked reel sets stack on top of the primary reels. Every time one or more red cash-on-reels symbols lands on a free spin, it unlocks the next reel set and returns the spin count to four.

The Eagle Bonus, triggered by a blue coin symbols, also locks the cash-on-reels symbols in place and awards four spins and three additional stacked reel sets, which are unlocked by additional cash-on-reels symbols, again, returning the spin meter to four.

The ultimate bonus results from cracking all three piñatas at once. Then, the extra reel windows are unlocked with any cash-on-reels symbol on a free spin.

There are four jackpots—static bonuses of $40 (Mini) and $200 (Minor); and progressives resetting at $800 (Major) and $8,000 (Grand). Jackpot icons can collect during the hold-and-re-spin event to award one of the three lower jackpots. The Grand is awarded if you fill the reels with cash-on-reels symbols.
