Rush Street Hires S.B. Ballard for $65 Million Virginia Hotel Project

Rush Street Gaming has announced the appointment of S.B. Ballard Construction Company as the general contractor of the Landing Hotel Portsmouth, a new development at its Rivers Casino Portsmouth in Virginia.

An upscale eight-story destination, the Landing Hotel Portsmouth will cost approximately $65 million to construct. It will be located directly adjacent to Rivers Casino Portsmouth, overlooking the property’s water feature.

In total, the hotel will feature 106 guest rooms, including 32 suites, as well as a lobby bar, private executive board rooms and other amenities.

S.B. Ballard is expected to start work this summer, with the aim of completing the Rush Street project in early 2027.

Rush Street Building a Legacy With S.B. Ballard

This will mark the second major venture between S.B. Ballard and Rush Street in Victoria.

S.B. Ballard is also the company behind the 270,000-square-foot Rivers Casino Portsmouth gaming and entertainment complex. The venue opened as Virginia’s first permanent casino in January 2023.
