GLPI Hands New Executive Role to Carlo Santarelli
Gaming and Leisure Properties (GLPI) has appointed Carlo Santarelli to the newly created position of senior vice president, corporate strategy and investor relations.
Santarelli will commence his new role on August 18 and report to GLPI President and Chief Operating Officer Brandon Moore. He will help develop and evaluate growth opportunities and strategic relationships, as well as oversee investor relations interactions.
Santarelli joins GLPI after having worked in finance for more than 25 years. He was most recently director of finance and chief financial officer of business partnering at Barclays Corporate and Investment Bank.
Prior to this, he spent over six years with HSCB Retail Banking and Wealth Management. This included stints as head of product performance and pricing and head of commercial finance.
Earlier in his career, Santarelli also had roles with American Express, Danon and Arma dei Carabinieri.
GLPI CEO Welcomes Santarelli’s ‘In-Depth Knowledge’
Peter Carlino, chairman and chief executive of GLPI, said of the appointment that Santarelli’s experience and knowledge will support the group moving forward.
“We’ve known and respected Carlo’s research work on the gaming, lodging and gaming REIT sectors for many years,” Carlino said. “Carlo brings to GLPI an in-depth knowledge of the industry and its participants, having experienced GLPI’s original formation of the gaming triple-net-REIT structure from a research analyst and capital markets perspective.
“We value his deep network of contacts among institutional investors, sell-side analysts and a wide range of gaming industry operators, and we look forward to the value of his contributions.”
