Wisconsin and Lac du Flambeau Stand-Off Ended

A five-year-long standoff between the state of Wisconsin and the Lac du Flambeau Chippewa band ended last month when the tribe agreed to pay .7 million in back payments to the state as part of a new compact. Under the new compact the tribe will pay the state 8,000 each year for two years and then pay 0,000 each year for the next 10 years.
