If you feel as though you’ve been inundated with online gaming ads recently, it’s because in all likelihood, you have been. The 2023 Report of Players’ Preferences in iGaming Marketing, produced by Optimove, polled approximately 400 active iGaming players from across the U.S. with household incomes of at least $75,000 and revealed that 86 percent of respondents indicated that they unsubscribe from iGaming sites due to excessive notifications and emails. Just under a third (30 percent) of respondents used that exact word, inundated, to express their current feelings regarding iGaming communications and advertising. The simplest fix that operators can implement to increase conversion rates, according to Optimove, was to make emails and offers more relevant—over half (56 percent) of respondents said that relevancy was the single most important motivating factor for them to engage with communications.
