Virgin Hotels Las Vegas CEO Departs

J.C. Hospitality, the ownership group that manages Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, recently announced that CEO Richard Bosworth resigned from his position at the end of March.

The outgoing CEO had long served as the head of the ownership group, and was instrumental in facilitating the $500 million acquisition of Hard Rock Las Vegas by Virgin Group in 2018.

Bosworth was also a key figure in the $200 million redevelopment of the property before it officially reopened in March 2021. Bosworth himself did not comment on the announcement, but J.C. Hospitality did confirm that he will maintain his ownership stake in the property.

Notably, Bosworth was also credited with bringing in Mohegan Gaming to operate the casino of Virgin Las Vegas, which represented one of the first tribal expansions into the Las Vegas market.

On March 20, J.C. issued a statement saying that Bosworth “will be taking the next step in his career as he moves on to pursue new ventures in hospitality.”

The property’s rooms are managed by Virgin Hotels and Hilton Hotels. The gaming operations are run by Mohegan.
