TransAct Signs Contract

Thermal printing supplier TransAct Technologies announced that it has signed a contract to install its new Epicentral Print System to connect approximately 1,000 slot machines at a U.S. casino. As part of the installation process, the casino—which TransAct did not name—will replace the printers in about 30 percent of its slot machines with the TransAct Epic 950 printer, so every slot in the casino will have full use of the system.

“We are very excited to sign on with the casino to install our new Epicentral Print System, and we will announce the name of the casino once the Epicentral system goes live, which is expected within 60-90 days, in order to protect the casino’s competitive advantage,” said Tracey Chernay, executive vice president of sales and marketing for TransAct Technologies. “We are pleased to have closed this contract for the Epicentral Print System, and believe this is the beginning of more contracts to come.”

The Epicentral system connects directly to TransAct’s “ServerPort” device inside the slot machine. Its software enables casinos to internally develop marketing programs and promotional coupons to be distributed to customers on a real-time basis at a slot machine. Additionally, the system works with all existing slot systems and games, as it is separate and distinct from the slot system itself.
